The workshop includes expert instruction, individualised feedback and detailed video analysis. It is recommended for people who can swim at least 50m or more of crawl stroke or who have studied TI skills previously with DVDs, books or lessons.  During the day you will develop your understanding of front crawl and the skills you need to acquire to become a much more efficient swimmer.

Who will benefit from this workshop?
  • Long time swimmers who are stuck on a plateau or need motivation.
  • New swimmers who want to develop really good habits.
  • Self-coached swimmers who want expert assessment and advice.
  • Triathletes looking to improve their stroke, reduce their swim times and save energy.
  • Open Water swimmers looking to make their stroke more efficient.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
The best way to increase your endurance or speed is to reduce energy waste when swimming. Using Total Immersion methodology, we will help you better understand how swimming front crawl works and how to practise in order to develop an efficient stroke. During the workshop you'll learn about and develop the foundation skills for more efficient swimming:
BREATHING AND BREATH MANAGEMENT
So many swimmers struggle with breathing and we understand this.  If you are fit and can swim and run a fair durance but get gassed after less than 100 metres, understanding good breath management is the key.  We will help you understand how to breathe naturally in the water and learn how and when to turn the head with body rotation and time the breath so that it is integrated into the stroke.  We apportion plenty of time on this workshop for you to work on this vital part of the stroke.
BALANCE AND STABILITY
Feeling balanced and stable in the water transforms your swimming experience; learn how to work with the water not against it.
STREAMLINING
Learn to push forwards through water by streamlining your body; once you are streamlined, much less effort is required to swim through it.  Water is 800 times thicker than air after all.
WHOLE BODY PROPULSION
Propel yourself forwards though the water using your core and channelling energy forwards using natural weight shifts. Rather than the traditional notion of pulling backwards, we focus on driving forwards.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
We use video from above and below the water to help you better understand your stroke and the things you need to practise to improve moving forwards. Videos and video analysis clips are also are uploaded to Dropbox for swimmers to review after the event.
