OPEN WATER SWIM COACHING
James is a certified STA level 2 open water coach as well as a Total Immersion level 3 coach. He is a passionate open water swimmer.
His open water coaching sessions take place in the sea on the south coast near Chichester at Bracklesham Bay.
James also covers specific open water skills like sighting, dealing with colder water and how to cope when conditions that are not flat calm.
Don't worry ... you don't need to learn a new special way of swimming, just how to adapt your stroke to the conditions and remain relaxed.
Swimming in open water is beautiful experience. You'll more than likely see terns diving for fish which is wonderful to watch and if you're lucky you might also get to see a seal or two in the early mornings.
To best understand your swimming you need to see yourself swimming and this is much more easily done in the pool than the sea. So in winter months we work in the pool to hone our skills for the sea.

"Hi James
I thought you might like to know how I got on at the SwimSerpentine on Saturday.
At my last triathlon in a pool I did 400m at 116 secs per 100, on Saturday the course was 1610m which with my time of 27:30 would make it 102.5 secs per 100m - which is mind blowing for me!!"
