I realise now this was a bit of an "in joke". In truth it more resembled the water in an an elephants' bathing pond with lots of seaweed in it. The plan was take it nice and steady, focus on a relaxed neutral head and low rate of effort. Let's just say I found the navigation challenging ... I don't know if anybody else found it tricky to spot the markers/kayaks but I defintiely lost my bearings. Time for 3K was 57 mins at relaxed pace and I felt pretty comfortable throughout apart from the taste of the Arun river.
